Overview & Target

Junior Al-Hafiz is one of our most in-demand classes. Method is built on a loving and age-appropriate approach in an experiential Quran learning program for 7 – 12 years old.

The class is for children who can fluently read Quran and can be taught to memorize Quran according to their own pace. This tahfiz class is 80% Quran memorization and 20% of the time spent on surah understanding (storytelling, games, quizzes, videos, arts and craft, experiments related to the surah covered for the week), including Quranic Arabic and hadith.

Syllabus

The students will start memorizing from the beginning of Surah Al-Fatihah, and then covering the last juz, Juz 30/ Juz ‘Amma from anNaas, Juz 29/ Juz Tabarak from AlMulk, Juz 28 from Al-Mujadalah and so forth. Some students who may have already memorized more surahs will need to revise their memorized portions before adding more ayats.

Considering that the students come for their memorization on a part-time basis between 4-10 hours a week, alhamdulillah our students can finish between half juz (younger students or ones still developing their memorization skills) and one to two juz for older students and those who have a gift from Allah with a good memory for remembering His word. The hours spent in class also include time to revise their past memorization to ensure the memorized portions are not forgotten.
